East Meets West Tours was formed by
two world travelers, Nasser Selimi and Mardi Samira, to
fulfill a vision to introduce Australians to the exotic
delights of the Middle Eastern world, as well as European
countries. Mixing the two together highlights the diversity
in this small area of the planet. The concept is to take only
small groups with similar interests, on personalized tours,
allowing our groups to blend into the society or culture we
are visiting and to experience the country in a safe and
personal way.
With 6 languages between them Nasser and Mardi have all the
skills to make your trip special in every way possible.
Nasser knows and understands the culture of these diverse
worlds intimately; Nasser was born in Paris, of Italian and
Algerian descent. Nasser is a consummate musician, who has
traveled widely and has an interest in the varied history of
the Middle East and Europe. Mardi, a former flight attendant,
is now a successful business woman and entertainer, who has
traveled within Europe, the Middle East and who has studied
in Egypt. She is incredibly intuitive into what women want to
do on tour, (and no its not always shopping!) whether it is
visiting sites that interest women, or taking a group to a
Bellydance session, she has the knack of finding just what is
required.
One of the delights of our trip was that we had a common
interest. This meant we could enjoy the discoveries that
each of us made while we were on the trip, and after on our
return.
For instance, when we had a party on our return, some made
the most delicious Moroccan food, exactly as we had tasted
it when we were on tour.
The trip has bonded us together:- we have very special
memories that we can relive easily when we meet up again. I
will always remember us going over to the coffee and pastry
shops in Paris for breakfast, trying to speak a little
French and watching people go by. There were many, many
moments that are exquisitely etched in my mind. Thanks must
go to our tour hosts, Mardi and Nasser, who were protective
of us and who went out of their way to show us again and
again new experiences with such graciousness and
enthusiasm.

the centre of Paris to a couscous lunch in the Ourika Valley,
Marrakech or exploring the Champagne caves at Moet et Chandon
to experiencing a traditional Moroccan mint tea in a peaceful
Hammam. From the Nile to the Seine from Giza to Montmartre,
experience the contrast and the cultural differences of these
exotic destinations.
